Weird submission history in My VTechWorks
When I go to my list of submissions under My VTechWorks, the submission list is automatically sorted by "last modified descending". The first 3 pages of results show items from a collection that I honestly can't remember touching in months, if not years (Destination Area: Integrated Security). Finally, halfway down page 4, items that I recently edited (Center Publications, Center for Soft Matter and Biological Physics collection) start showing up. Please see screenshots below.
Interestingly, if I sort the list by "date issued descending", then the results are back to normal, i.e., sorted by most recent item submitted. This was the default screen I saw when I first started testing DSpace 7, so I was confused when it didn't show up automatically.

Carrie, I've been looking into this, and it seems that the "last modified" order might refer to the "Last Modified" date that is displayed on the status page when you edit an item.
It's not clear to me what all of the things are that cause this date to be updated, but as a test I just regenerated thumbnails for the item at https://vtechworks-dev-ds7.cloud.lib.vt.edu/items/9c487c71-e471-4cc4-b2da-0e1c8d712348.
After the new thumbnail was added automatically by the thumbnail generation process, the last modified timestamp was updated to today's date. So I get the sense that last modified could be updated with any changes at all to the item, even ones that are done by other people or performed by the system.
It looks like the submissions on the top all have recent last modified dates when viewed on the edit item page status tab, but it's not clear to me why.
Seems like date issued descending might make more sense here; I'm not sure if it's configurable what the default view could be.
