When an item is mapped, the mapped collection doesn't show up in simple item view or full item view. You can only find it by going to the Item Mapper under the Edit Item menu. Please see example below:

Let me know if you see the same thing, first without performing a "force reload" in your browser, and then after performing a "force reload".
This seems like another issue with the page not updating immediately with the correct information, as with the issue #34 (closed), Metadata exports don't download.
I haven't purposely enabled any additional caching in the app until now, so I'm not sure why these things are happening.
@vtkeithg It's showing up for me by default and when I refresh the page (I haven't been able to get Chrome to "force reload" with keyboard shortcuts). It does seem like there's a lag with updates.
@vtkeithg As a follow-up test, I tried mapping this item (http://hdl.handle.net/10919/114989) yesterday. The mapped collection showed up today. I wonder if mappings in DSpace 7 are like thumbnails - maybe they generate overnight? Just a guess at this point.
Good guess. I'm still looking into this. But today I tried to map an item (one that wasn't mapped anywhere yet), and I'm not sure how to do it. I edited the item, went into Collection Mapper tab, clicked on Map New Collections, but then I can't see anywhere to put the new collection in. Here's my screenshot:
It's showing the triptych that shouldn't be there, but I can't see any way to add this item to other collections.
@vtkeithg That is really strange. Last time I did this, there was a search bar where you could either type in or select a collection from a drop down menu.
There's another way to do this. The last step failed for me as I was writing these instructions, but I'll describe the process anyway:
Go to the simple item view for the item you want to map.
Copy the item handle.
Navigate to the VTechWorks homepage by opening a new tab. Once you're there, use the communities and collections list to find the collection you want (In this case, I chose Scholarly Works, School of Architecture + Design).
Once you're at the collection's homepage, click the pencil to edit the collection.
Go to the item mapper tab and paste the item handle into the search bar.
Spoiler alert: currently there is no search bar. Today is the first day I noticed this error. I'm wondering if it's a system-wide issue.
